The project site near Smiltene’s town center is undergoing a subtle transformation, blending natural landscapes with community-focused development. Jāņukalns holds deep cultural significance as a traditional gathering place tied to Latvian folk celebrations.

Jāņukalns is being revitalized into a modern cultural and educational center that honors Latvian folk traditions. The project combines a new concert hall, music and art schools, and an outdoor stage, all designed to blend naturally with the site’s three slopes and surrounding park. This “Song Garden” concept celebrates community, heritage, and creativity.
